Service Description

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an accredited 14-hour training program that teaches adults how to support young people aged 12–25 who are experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. This blended online course is delivered over one full 7.5 hour day (with a 30 min lunch break), combined with self-paced online learning that you complete in your own time before attending. By the end of the course, you will be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in young people, provide initial support, and guide them towards appropriate professional help. This course is ideal for parents, teachers, school staff, coaches, youth workers, and anyone who works with or cares for young people. Course details: - Format: Blended (online sessions + self-paced eLearning) - Duration: 14 hours total - Session: One full day via Zoom (7.5 hours plus lunch break) - Investment: $320 per person - Minimum participants: 8 (course will not proceed below this number) - Maximum participants: 16 - Accreditation: Mental Health First Aid Australia Upon successful completion, participants receive an internationally recognised Mental Health First Aid certificate, valid for three years. Victorian Department of Education schools may be eligible for full funding through the Mental Health Menu — contact us to find out more.


Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and Rescheduling A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule your booking. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will forfeit the full course fee. Cancellations with 48+ hours' notice will receive a full refund or may transfer to another available course date (subject to availability). Course Attendance Requirements Participants must attend all sessions to complete the course and receive accreditation as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. This applies to all delivery formats. For blended courses, both the self-paced online component AND all scheduled sessions must be completed. Partial attendance will not result in certification. Public Course Minimum Numbers Public courses require a minimum of 8 participants to proceed. We reserve the right to cancel or transfer participants to another course date if minimum numbers are not met. You will be notified at least 1 week prior if minimum numbers have not been reached. In this event, you will receive either a full refund or free transfer to another available date. Payment Full payment is required at time of booking to secure your place. Course Transfers Course transfers are permitted with 48+ hours' notice, subject to availability. One free transfer allowed per booking. Late Arrivals Participants arriving more than 30 minutes late to any session may be unable to join and may need to reschedule, as all course hours must be completed for accreditation. Special Circumstances In case of serious illness or emergency, contact us immediately to discuss options. Medical documentation may be required for refunds or transfers in exceptional circumstances.
